Carl Isidor Cori is Notable.
Isidor Josef Karl Borromeus was born in 1865 in Brüx, Austria (today called Most, Czechia). He was an Austrian zoologist and marine biologist. He earned his doctorate at Leipzig (1891). He managed the zoological station in Trieste then taught at Charles University in Prague.

The Cori family came to Bohemia from the Papal States at the end of the 17th century. Cori's father Eduard Cori (1812–1889) was an administrative officer and beekeeper in Brüx. The mother Rosina (née Trinks) died in 1909.

They had at least two children,

  1. Carl Ferdinand Cori received the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1947.
  2. The daughter Margarete Cori (* 1905) was a lecturer in Prague and married the geneticist Felix Mainx (1900–1983).

Carl Isidor passed away in 1954 in Vienna. He is buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery.
