Abstract from Laurel Grove Cemetery Keepers Book: Jonathan OLMSTEAD died the 15th of September, 1854, and was buried the following day in Lot 135. He was a native of Massachusetts, aged 56 years, and a resident of Broughton Street, Columbia Ward.
Georgia Telegraph (Macon), issue of the 19th of September, 1854 2:4 - Among the deaths from Yellow Fever in Savannah, during the past week, we note that of Capt. Jonathan OLMSTEAD, Cashier of the Marine Bank. Capt. OLMSTEAD was an old and highy respected Citizen of Savannah, and died universally esteemed in that community.
