Biography

The Bensons were early settlers of Dover, a Precinct of Dutches County, NY and were there as early as 1739,

Judith/Judah was born about 1780, est. She passed away about 1840, est.

Judah, called Judy, was married to John Smith (Sr.) on Sunday 26 January 1805 at the house of Ephriam Wheeler in Amenia, NY [1].

Their second child, John Zachariah was born in 1812, New Milford, CT.

As far as the marriage is concerned, the answer is yes that is the town that they were married in. It was a freind's home.
