According to the old settlers of Greene County, Mr. Thomas married Elizabeth Isley. Mr. Thomas had returned from the Indian War and married on 4 June 1816.Baptist church. It states that her parents were Philip and Margaretta Isley. She was born in Sullivan county, Tennessee on September 2 , 1796. She came to Illinois with her brother in law, John Collins in July, 1815.

They had 12 children.
