PRINCETON - Cash N. James, 68, died July 24 at a Danforth nursing home. He was born at Princeton, October 2, 1904, the son of William and Mary (Cash) James.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (MacKencie) James; five sons, Clarence of Southwick, Mass., Donald of Coventry, Conn., Franklin of San Antonio, Texas, Stephen, Federal Way, Wash., and Calvin of Woodland; five daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Muriel) Smith of St. Stephen, N.B., Mrs. Herbert (Charlotte) Melanson, Mrs. John (Beulah) Lane, Bangor, Mrs. John (Mary) Mulholland, and Miss Arlene James, Princeton; two brothers, Ruel of Pulaski, Pa., and Amos of Granby, Conn., three sisters, Mrs. Chester (Clara) Fitch, and Mrs. Cora Washburn, both of Princeton, and Mrs. Arlene Zak of Somerville, Mass., and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m. from the Scholl Funeral Chapel.

Interment will be in the Princeton Cemetery.

Paternal relationship is affirmed through Y-chromosome DNA testing at Family Tree DNA. David James, FTDNA kit #24887, and his second cousin, once removed, Franklin Willis James, FTDNA kit #50505, match at a Genetic Distance of 3 on 67 markers, thereby confirming their direct paternal lines back to their MRCA Josiah Eaton James. FTDNA indicates that the probability the two share a common ancestor within the last 5 generations is 60.31% and within the last 10 generations is 93.6%.
