Biography
John McKenney was born on 9 February 1737 in Scarborough, Maine. His parents were John McKenney and Margaret (Wright) McKenney[1].
He married Mary Rand, but the date of their marriage is uncertain. They had seven children[2]:
- 1. Jonathan, born 11 Dec 1761; married Lillas Watson [2]
- 2. Jeremiah, born 5 Jun 1763
- 3. John, born 3 Dec 1765; married Tamsen Phillips
- 4. Sally, born 5 Dec 1767
- 5. Thomas, born 22 Jun 1776; married Hannah Chamberlain
- 6. Abner, born 23 Nov 1778; married Mary Edgecomb
- 7. Mary, born 3 Jun 1781; married James Moulton
John passed away on 18 November 1818 and is buried in South Buxton Cemetery[3].
