Biography

Seth Carsley was born on 18 July 1782 in Gorham, Maine. His parents were John Carsley and Mercy (Freeman) Carsley^[1].

He married Susanna Whitney on 22 January 1809 in Gorham^[2]. They relocated to a portion of Bridgton, Maine (which later became Harrison, Maine) in 1805, where they had seven children^[3]:

2. Susanna, born 18 Dec 1811; married Stephen Blake

3. Edward P., born 25 Mar 1815

4. Nathan, born 20 Apr 1817; married Elizabeth Whitney

5. John, born 16 Jul 1820; married Adaline Blake

6. Mary A., born 21 Feb 1823; married Stephen Blake (2nd wife)

7. Richard P., born 13 Apr 1826; married Caroline Hayes

Seth passed away on 27 March 1874 in Harrison; he was the oldest man in the town at the time of his death^[4].
