Biography

When Emiliza Louisa Martin was born in 1823, in Whitley, Kentucky, her father, William Charles Martin, was 38, and her mother, Elizabeth Gatliff, was 34. She married John Jackson Rains on October 27, 1842, in Campbell, Tennessee. They had 13 children in 27 years. She died on March 13, 1897, at the age of 73.
