Thelma's parents had met and married in British South Africa, in 1900. Lt. Col. Arthur B. Snow moved his family from South Africa to Canada, a British Dominion, in about 1906. Thelma was their first child born in Canada. They first lived in British Columbia and then moved to New Brunswick around the time of World War I, when her father served in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in Europe.[4]
On July 27, 1932, Thelma D'Oyly Snow married Major James Byron Carr, b: 14 Jul 1905 in New Brunswick, Canada. They married in Rothesay, Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada. The couple had one daughter: Barbara Carr. Barbara married Robert Lohnes and moved to Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Major James B. Carr died on 12 June 1965 at 59 years old. He was buried at the Methodist Cemetery, Woodstock, Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada.[5]
His wife survived his passing. Thelma (Snow) Carr passed away on May 25, 2006 at 97 years old. She was buried next to her husband and his parents at the Methodist Cemetery, Woodstock, Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada. [6] She was survived by their daughter Barbara (Carr) Lohnes of Blockhouse, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and one brother, James Snow, of British Columbia, Canada.

CARR, Thelma D'oyly - of Fredericton formerly of Woodstock, passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, May 25, 2006, at the age of 97. Thelma is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Robert ) Lohnes of Blockhouse, NS; and four grandchildren; Christopher ( Susan ) Lohnes of Saskatchewan; Timothy ( Kery ) Lohnes of Darthmouth, NS ; Matthew ( Daniel ) Lohnes Blockhouse, NS; Sara ( Paul ) Wood of Elmdale, NS. five great grandchildren Alexandra, Samuel, Kathreine, Noah, Jillian. one brother James Snow of BC. Sister in-law Jean Snow of Fredericton, NB. Thelma was pre-deceased by her husband James Byron Carr...[7]
