Biography

Margaret Kennelly was born in Askeaton Parish, Co. Ireland in 1836. Her parents were Cornelius Kennelly and Margaret Nestor.

Margaret and Maurice Langan came to the US with their children and homesteaded in Platte Center Nebraska in 1877.

Margaret and Maurice are buried at St. Patricks Cemetery in NE.

Note: Maurice Sr. does not have a headstone, yet Margaret does and her surname Langan is spelled wrong as Langen.

LANGAN Name results (numerous) Mayo-Galway etc., Midlands, W Limerick-N Kerry. Ir. Ó Longáin, perhaps langa, lanky. There were two septs: one of Mayo, the other were erenaghs of Ardpatrick in Limerick, whence Mícheál Óg Ó Longáin (1766-1837), poet of the United Irishmen. See also Long.
