Biography

William was born about 1762. He is the son of Samuel Harris and Abigail Larcom of Beverly, Mass[1]

In 1763, he emigrated to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia along with his family[2] [3] [4] [5]

On December 21, 1786, he married Martha Rose, daughter of Richard Rose, another Yarmouth Grantee[4], and their children included:

  1. William, born December 18, 1787, who married Sarah Moses, daughter of William[4]
  2. Edward, born January 7, 1789, who married Margaret Morill, daughter of Moses[4]
  3. Martha, born September 28, 1791, who married Jonathan Harris, son of David[4]
  4. Mary, born November 10, 1793, who married Thomas Churchill, son of Ephraim[4]
  5. Susanna, born September 12, 1795, who married Joseph Morill, son of Moses[4]
  6. RIchard, born September 5, 1797, who married Mary Moses, daughter of William[4]
  7. Abigail, born August 23, 1799, who died young[4]
  8. Edith, born August 17, 1801, who married Alexander Bain, son of Alexander[4]
  9. Nathan, born September 25, 1804, who died young[4]
  10. Jesse, born February 3, 1807, who married Eliza Morill, daughter of Moses[4]
  11. Vincent, born January 22, 1809, who married Tabitha Raymond, daughter of Joseph[4]

William Harris died November 23, 1839[4]
