Biography
William was born in 1831 in Nova Scotia. He is the son of John Gault Murray (abt.1805-1877) and Catherine Jane (Grant) Murray (abt.1805-1874). He married Margaret Malcolm in Plaster Cove (now Port Hastings), Nova Scotia in 1854. [The date of marriage is provided on the birth registration of their daughter, Mary Ellen,] In 1871 he and Margaret are living in River Inhabitants, Nova Scotia with five children. In 1881 they are living in Port Richmond with two children in the household. In 1891 they are still there, with only their daughter Catherine (Annie) in the household. It appears that William and Margaret moved to Sackville, New Brunswick sometime between 1891 and 1901. The Census of that year shows that Catherine is still living with them. William died in 1902 and is buried in the Sackville Rural Cemetery.
