Biography
Mary (Cochran) Dimock was born in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Mary was the eldest of 5 children born to John Cochran and Elizabeth Allison.
She married John Ira Dimock at Charlestown, Massachusetts on November 4, 1858.[1] John and Mary lived in Nova Scotia[2] and had 6 children.
John IRA Dimock was a Ship's Carpenter when he married Mary Jane in Massachusetts. There is no definitive answer to manner or date of his death. It is presumed that he died at sea circa 1878, as she is listed as widowed on the 1881 census.[3]
She moved back to Boston as she is listed on the 1900 census[4] living with her 4 sons.
Mary died at Boston, Massachusetts on January 2, 1904[5] and is buried at Scotch Village Century Cemetery[6][7] in Hants County, Nova Scotia.[8]
