Lloyd Nelson Ward was born on 22 Dec 1899 in Wood Point, Sackville, Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Arthur P. Ward (1870 - 1939) and Eliza Snowden (1867 - ).
His siblings were:

- Norman A. Ward (1903 - 1928)
Lloyd (22) married Gladys Etta Ward (~29) (born in New Brunswick about 13 Aug 1892; died on 10 Aug 1972), daughter of Milton Ward and Laura Lockhart, on 18 Jan 1922 in Amherst, Cumberland, NS. Their children were:
- Donald Herbert Ward (1922 - ~1978)
- Gordon Leroy Ward (1926 - 1983)
- Russell Arthur Ward (1927 - ~1973)
- Lawrence Seward Ward (1929 - 1981).
Lloyd died on 20 Jan 1982 aged 82. He is buried in Sackville Rural Cemetery, Sackville.
