Walter West is Notable.

Walter Richard West Sr. an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, was a painter, sculptor, and educator. He led the Art Department at Bacone College from 1947 to 1970. He later taught at Haskell Institute for several years. West served at a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II.


Walter Richard West was born 8 Sep 1912 to Lightfoot West and Rena Flying Coyote West in Canadian County, Oklahoma.

He died 3 May 1996 and is buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States.[1]
