In Dec 1937 he won a prize for Best Dressed boy at The Flat Rocks P&C children's fancy dress ball.
In Dec 1939 he was awarded a scholarship to Narrogin School of Agriculture.
His wife is Norma Shepherd and they married on 17/10/1953 at St Patrick's Church Katanning.
They had six children Paul, Beth, Mark, Cate, Patrick and David.
He was cremated at Albany Cemetery and his ashes taken by the Donald Coventry.
He is memorialised in Tambellup Cemetery.
