    • ) In the Name of God Amen the 29th Day of March 1721 I Richard Steer of Southold in the County of Suffolk on Long Island in the province of New York being aged and Infirm in Body yet sound of mind and Memory (thanks be to Almighty God) do make Ordain and Declare this my last Will and Testament Viz Principally and first of all Committing my Soul to God my Creator and begging pardon of all my Sins through the Merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer And my Body to the Earth to be Buried in a Decent and Christian Manner in hope through Jesus Christ to Attain unto a Blessed and Glorius Resurrection And for the Settling of such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased God to Bestow upon me I do order and Dispose thereof as follows (Viz).
      • Imprimis, I do will and order that all such Debts and Duties which I may owe unto any person or persons shall be well and truly paid or Ordained to be paid within Convenient time after my decease by my Executors hereafter named.
