Biography
This is an educated guess on my part. I know that Aaron Varnell's mother was Catherine Jane (Parker) Orr. In the 1850 census for Bradley Co., TN, Catherine Parker (then 7 yrs. old) was listed in the household of her parents, Aaron and Rebecca Parker. In the same census, James Varnell (then 11 yrs. old) was listed in the household of his parents, Isaac and Prudence Varnell. Both families lived in the 26th subdivision of Bradley County. In the 1860 census for Bradley County, TN, Catherine is listed as "Hata Vannel", along with her 1 year old daughter (and Aaron's sister), Rebecca. James Varnell, son of Isaac and Prudence Varnell, now age 21, is not found in the 1860 census for Bradley Co., TN. In the 1870 census for Bradley Co. TN, Catherine Parker Orr (and her daughter Rebecca L.) are listed in the household of her new husband, Robert R. Orr. Catherine's son, Aaron Monta Varnell, now 9 yrs. old, is listed in the household of Catherine's mother, Rebecca Parker.
