1981, Jan 19. Death of Frederick Winfield Caldwell in St. Joseph's Hospital, Stamford. His residence at death was 86-A Bracewood Lane, Stamford. He was buried in Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Stamford, 21 Jan 1981.[5][6][8]

Frederick W. Caldwell, 79, of 86 A Bracewood Lane, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born June 7, 1901 he was the son of Abner and Emma Caldwell.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Robinson Caldwell.
He was a retired employee of Palmer Brothers Motors in Cos Cob.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Phillips of Howells, N.Y.; a son, Frederick W. Caldwell Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Bouton and Reynolds Funeral Home, 545 Bedford St., yesterday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel Maruszak of Calvary Assembly Church, officiating. Interment took place at the Long Ridge Union Cemetery.[7]

  • The names of Frederick's second wife needs additional research. The New York marriage index has two entries for Frederick's wife. One is for Marjorie M. Clun, the second is for Marjorie M. Shorten. The 1940 Census list Frederick's wife as Margaret with her children's last name given as Shorten.
