Lorena (aka "Lorana" or "Lourena") Davis was born about 1759 in Hanover County, Virginia. Her parents are Uncertain. Her Family Search profile lists them as: Lewis Cave Davis Jr., 1745–1817 and wife, Agnes (Walton) Davis, 1744–1819. They married on 10 October 1758 in Cabool, Texas Co., Missouri. This latter is impossible as Texas County, Missouri, was not organized until 1843/1845.[1] [2] Scott Eubanks' Genealogy says they were: Lewis Davis III, b: 1743 in Hanover, Virginia and Agnes (Walton) Davis, b: 7 Jan 1744 in Hanover, Virginia.[3]
Lorana Davis married Richard Snow around 1777 in Albemarle County, Virginia, USA.
From the court papers, transcripts below, a notation in 1786 includes naming his wife as Lorena Davis, widow of Henry Davis. She had a son: Lewis Davis, when she and Richard Snow married in 1777; Lewis David apparently died before 1786. He had 2 minor-age daughters: Mary and Sally Davis. They were adopted by Richard Snow, who became their legal guardian. Richard and Lorena Snow had 7 children together:[4]
Three US Census reports for Richard Snow in Fredericksville Parish, Albemarle County, Virginia, from 1820 - 1840 only show numbers of persons in the home. Wives and children's names and ages were only added to US Census reports from 1850.
So far as has been determined, Richard Snow was a widower by the 1820 Census, indicating that Lorana (Davis) Snow had passed away before 1 June 1820. No burial site or Find A Grave Memorial exists for her.
