Sir Edward Barry, 1st Bt. was born in 1698.

He was the son of Edward Barry and Jane (?).

He married, secondly, Jane Dopping, daughter of Rt. Rev. Anthony Dopping and Dorothea Howard, on 18 December 1746.

He died on 29 March 1776 at Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.

His will (dated 17 October 1771 to 22 February 1776) was proven (by probate) on 2 July 1776.

He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1713.

He was appointed Fellow, College of Physicians, London in 1762.

He purchased the estate of estate of Dundeedy, near Macroom, County Cork.
