Dr Benjamin Fanning is an ancestor of mine. He was my grandmother's great-grandfather. He married Canilda Phelps and had two children, Grace and Charles. Grace married Theodore Southard and they moved to Nebraska. They had 4 children. I have a picture of them in front of their sod house. Charles was my grandmother's grandfather. He married Sarah Jane Egnor.
Benjamin Fanning lived in Gilboa, NY. Gilboa was flooded in the 1920s to expand the reservoir system for NYC, and the residents were relocated. I have letters that Benjamin wrote to my grandmother describing the plans and move, and then after the creation of the reservoir.
