Clara was born about 1780. She was enslaved by Samuel Prater in Roane County, Tennessee.

Negros belonging to the estate of Samuel Prater deceased: Clara aged about sixty years Alford aged about twenty one years Betsy aged about Eighteen and Mariah aged about eighteen months -[1][2]
