Biography
Emily was born about 1794/1795. She is the daughter of Richard Caton and Mary 'Polly' Carroll, and the grandaughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, a signatory to the Declaration of Independence.
Emily married John McTavish (1788 - 1852) who was the British Consul in Baltimore, and they had 4 children.
She passed away in 1867.
