Biography

Rebecca STEPHENSON, daughter of James M. STEPHENSON (c. 1805-1883) and Nancy CROW (1809-1889), was born on 6 April 1836 in Roane County, Tennessee. In 1850 she lived in Roane County.

She moved with her parents to Upshur County, Texas, in the early 1850s. Rebecca Stephenson married Albid Bauman on 26 October 1852 in Upshur County, Texas. They returned to Caddo Parish, by December 1853, but by 1860, they returned to Upshur County. She and Albid Nigh BAUMAN had eleven children.

In 1870 she lived in Smith County. She died on 12 May 1873 in Smith County. She was buried in the Robbs/Bauman Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Smith County, Texas.
