"Services Held Wednesday For William S. Rowland, Des Moines Resident" [2]
Funeral services for William Spencer Rowland, age 84, who died Saturday, January 7, at his home in Des Moines, were held Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock from the chapel of the Chittenden Funeral Home.
Mr. Rowland had been a grocer for 40 years, but retired from business five years ago. he had been a resident of the Des Moines community the past 14 years. he formerly resided in Bear River, Colorado.
The final rites were conducted by Mrs. Ida Estes for the for the Christian Science Church. Burial was in the Kent cemetery.
Mr. Rowland was born October 24, 1854 in Cass County, Missouri. surviving are his widow, Flora Rowland, Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Flora Hazel Smith, of Des Moines; one brother, David Rowland, of Hillsdale, Kansas; one sister, Anna Rowland, of Hillsdale, Kansas, and one grandson, Donald Smith, of Des Moines."
