Biography
William "Drake" Playters married, on July 3rd, 1604, Katherine Tollemache, daughter of Lionel and Katherine (Cromwell). (The visitation of 1612 called her Dorothy.) Children, according to Ancestry record were: Talmach 1600-, Anna 1602-, Lionel 1604-1661, Henry 1606-, Richard 1608-. Mary 1611-.
(in the English Civil War, both families - Tallemach and Playters - were on the list of Suffolk Royalist Families. Miss Dyke's notes.)
"William Playters Esq. of Soterley in Suffolk was lord of Hardley in right of his wife, Mary, daughter and co-heir of William Drake, and is said to be his fourth wife, by whom he had Drake-William Playters Esq. who took to wife Catherine, daughter of Sir Lionel Talmash of Helmingham in Suffolk, Bart, and was father of Talmach Playters Esq. who sold this lordship to Sir William Cook, Bart, in 1697."
