On November 19, 1851 he married Lucy Cobb Bates. She was the daughter of George Bates. They were married in Boston by Oliver Stevens, Esq. Justice of the Peace [3]
His wife died in 1902.
He died on February 8, 1909 at his home 11 Vernon Street in Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Brookline shares a border with Boston. He was seventy-two years, and thirteen days old. The informant was a son. He was retired. [1]He was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery with his wife and they share a headstone. [2]
