Wiliam Gilford Maxwell was born about 1876 in Amherst, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada, son of William Maxwell (~1853 - ) and Emma E (Ayer) Maxwell (1855 - 1902).

Wiliam was born about 1876. He is the son of William Maxwell and Emma Ayer.

In his death certificate his birthdate is 5 July 1880 but the 1881 census shows that to be incorrect.
