Biography

Francis Rolleston was born in 1700.^[1] He was the son and heir of:

• Arthur Rolleston, Esq. of Tomlough, co. Tipperary (b. 12 Jul 1691 - d. 1720),^[1]
• and Elizabeth, dau. of Gen. Michael Merritt of Finoe, co. Tipperary.^[1]

Origins

Francis is a direct descendant of Arthur Rolleston, a younger son of William Rolleston of Rolleston, Staffs. (d. 1593), who with his brothers Rev. Richard and John Rolleston, received a grant of lands in co. Armaugh, Ireland in 1610.^[1]

Marriage

Francis married Frances Everingham in 1740. They had at least one son.

Frances was the niece and heiress of Captain James Franck, of Coologue or Franckfort. Upon his death she inherited his estate.

They lived at Ffranckfort, alias Coologue, County Offaly, Ireland. He was the Mayor of Galway.

He died in 1779.^[1]
