It would appear that Catherine was born prior to assumed date of marriage between her father John and mother Dorcas - either her birth date is incorrect or John had wife prior to Dorcas. Likely still a Grigsby as MtDNA is still within that line.

Catherine was born in 1791. She passed away in 1876.

It is believed but not yet proved that John Foster b. abt 1773 was the son of William Foster b. abt 1748 and Mary or Jane Foster, as well as the grandson of Robert Foster and Sarah Haley. John Foster Thomas ‘ father Marcus Lafayette Thomas was the son of Benjamin Thomas and Margaret Grigsby.
