Biography

Joseph Walker was the son of John Walker who came as a British soldier and settled in Brooksville. Joseph had two brothers-John and William-- who were Lost at Sea. Along with his remaining brothers--David, Robert and Benjamin--Joseph was one of the first to engage in the wool manufacturing business.^[1]Marriage intentions for him and Susanna Babson were published 24 Jul 1821 at Hancock, Maine

In 1850 Joseph Walker and Susan resided in Brooksville with had two children:^[2]

Joseph Groves Walker b, 19 jan 1828^[3]

Emma b. 21 feb 1831^[4]

He m. Sarah Jane Douglass, daughter of James Douglass and Peggy Lymburner, 5 Sep 1874 at Brooksville, Hancock, Maine; d. 28 Nov 1887 at Brooksville, Hancock, Maine, at age 87; AE 87y 11m.
