John Knatchbull, Gent, of Mersham, Kent

John Knatchbull was a son of Richard Knatchbull and Joane Sheafe/Skeff/Sheff.^[1][2][3]

He married Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Scott of Smeeth, Kent.^{[1][2][3][4][5][6]}

John Knatchbull was dead by 01 Feb 1587/1588^[7] and had no surviving issue.^[1]

His widow Elizabeth married second Richard Smythe by Licence dated 25 Sep 1589.^[8]

John Knatchbull of Mersham in the County of Kent gentleman deceased whiles he lived and was in good and perfect memorye althoughe not Longe before his decease made and declared his last will nuncupative in manner and forme following or to the same effect viz Being moved to make his will in Writing answered that he needed not to make and ffor that his meaning was his wife should have all and shoulde be his sole executrix And at an other time after his saide declaracion willed that Richard Knatchbull his eldest brother shoulde have his greate horse, unto which declaracion and will nuncupative are witnesses diverse credible persons namely Alexander Hamen, Henry Downe, Hugh Harte and others.

Probate was dated 01 Feb 1587/1588 and granted to Elizabethe, widow and Executrix.
