Married 17 Nov 1796 New Hampton, Belknap, New Hampshire to Mehitable Blake.

To their union was born 8 children: Lynn Kidder, Moses Kidder, Sarah Kidder, John Kidder, Mehitable Estelle Kidder, Lucy Kidder, Amas Kidder, and Mary Kidder.

He settled on the John Smith Farm in Bridgewater, Grafton, New Hampshire, and here he resided till 1811, when his property was swept away thorough signing a note with Moses Lewis, and he removed to Hebron, Grafton, New Hampshire. In Mar 1815, he purchased a farm in Enosburg, Franklin, Vermont, and removed his family their on an ox sled, and there he resided till his death. He was a strong man physically and spiritually; a member of the Congregational Church.
