Caleb is the son of Reuben Thayer and Sarah Linfield

Moving to Connecticut and beginning their family and farming land.

Caleb's wife Patience passed away in 1834 who became very ill

In about 1840 he moved to Ohio, this is where he met and married his third wife Catherine Shepley. They married on 7 Nov 1843 in Highland, Ohio^[5]

'Caleb passed away in 1855 at the age of 84, and he is buried in the Countryman Cemetery located in Elmville, Highland, Ohio^[6]
