Abraham Buford was an American soldier and landowner. Graduate of the United States Military Academy, he served in the United States Army during the Mexican–American War. Buford joined the Confederate States Army in 1862 and served as a Brigadier General in the Western Theater of the American Civil War. After the war, he retired to his native Kentucky and became a thoroughbred horse breeder.[1]
Son of William B Buford and Frances W Kirtley. Husband of Amanda Harris.[2] Father of William A Buford.[1] Abraham passed away in 1884. Final resting place in Lexington, Kentucky.[3]
