Biography
Charles Spurgeon Keirstead was the 4th child of Edmund W. & Georgiana (Fanjoy) Keirstead and grew up with many siblings and half-siblings on his father's farm in the small community of Collina.[1] Rather than follow in his father's footsteps, young Charles became an engineer.
In November 1902, he traveled to St. John to board a train for Boston, Massachusetts.[2]
In 1907, he married Evelyn Idora Watson (d/o Francis & Elizabeth (Keirstead) Watson; they were third cousins, once removed) and who had also immigrated to Massachusetts from Collina, New Brunswick. The pair had four children (Charles Warren, Violet M., Hazel Bell and Elmer R.).
Charles passed away in Pasco County, Florida on 11 October 1977.[3]
