Jacob David Mögling (* 16. Mai 1680 in Tübingen; † 19. November 1729 daselbst)[1] war Jurist und Professor der Rechte an der Universität Tübingen. Jacob David Mögling war Lizentiat in Tübingen. Er unternahm eine Studienreise durch Europa. 1705 wurde er zum Extraordinarius ernannt und erhielt die Doktorwürde. Er war Herzoglicher Rat und Assessor des obersten Gerichtshofes. 1717 war er Rektor der Universität Tübingen. Jacob David Mögling stammte aus einer Gelehrtenfamilie. Sein Vater war Johann David Mögling und Michael Graß war sein Schwiegervater. Sein Bruder war Johannes Friedrich Moegling und sein Sohn war Jacob Friedrich Moegling.[1] Jacob David Mögling was a lawyer and professor of law at the University of Tübingen and was a licentiate in Tübingen. He undertook a study trip through Europe. In 1705 he was appointed associate professor and received a doctorate. He was Ducal Councilor and Supreme Court Assessor. In 1717 he was rector of the University of Tübingen. Jacob David Mögling came from a family of scholars. His father was Johann David Mögling and Michael Graß was his father-in-law. His brother was Johannes Friedrich Moegling and his son was Jacob Friedrich Moegling
