Biography

Irene was born in 1912 in Essex County, VA. She was the daughter of George Washington Parker and Mollie Gray Taylor. On 20 Jun 1932 in King and Queen, VA she married James Robert Minter. They lived in King and Queen/Essex area where they had three sons. James died during surgery following a tractor accident in April 1943.

On 31 Dec 1943 Irene married John R Hammond. They did not have any children. They lived in Tappahannock, Essex County, VA for the remainder of their lives. It was here she passed away in 1976. She is buried at Howertons Baptist Church Cemetery.
