Biography

Mary was born on August 10, 1707 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. ^[1] She was the daughter of Benjamin Pemberton and his wife Eliza.

Mary and Nathaniel Cushing were married by Joseph Sewall on October 23, 1729 in Boston, Massachusetts. ^[2] Nathaniel died a month after the marriage. ^[3]

Mary next married Thomas Steel (aka Steele) on August 23, 1736 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay. They were married by Benjamin Coleman. ^{[4] [5]} They lived in Leicester, Massachusetts and had nine children.

Mary died on January 28, 1868 in Leicester, Worcester County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. ^[6]
