Luigi Calamatta was an Italian painter and engraver.
Luigi Antonio Giuseppe Calamatta, born on 8 Marc 1801 at Civitavecchia, in the Papal States, was the son of Francesco Calamatta and Firmina Natali.[1] His parents died in Civitavecchia, his father on 7 June 1803 and his mother on 11 May of the same year.[1]
He married Anne Joséphine Cécile Rochette, also a painter and engraver, on 1 December 1840 in Paris.[1] Their daughter Lina would marry Maurice Dudevant, son of author George Sand.
Luigi Calamatta died in Milan on 8 March 1869.
