Biography
Johan August Hellberg was born on March 23, 1847 in Härnösand, Västernorrland, Sweden[1]. He was the son of styrman Carl Johan Helberg from Gothenburg and fisherman's daughter Cajsa Stina Löf from Härnösand.
He had brothers:
- Carl Theodor b. 1845 in Härnösand
- Gustaf Wilhelm b. 1852 in Härnösand
The family moved to Nordmaling in the 1850's[2]
He was widowed in 1891.
He passed away on September 23, 1919 in Brännö Norgården in Styrsö parish, Göteborgs och Bohus län, Sweden.[3]

Is there any connection you are aware of between August Helberg mentioned in Family Search? His Family Search id is LRR1-HLH and your Johan August [Hellberg-128]. You have a birth record stating Johan August was born in Harnosand whereas the August I am referring to, and according to a census record he was born in v. Thunhem, Sweden?
My wife [Helberg-91] and I are trying to link the Norwegian resistance fighter Claus Urbye Helberg [Helberg-565] see his profile on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claus_Helberg His profile on Family Search is id LCCR-YXS. Claus facial expressions and my wifes father Charles Nicolaas [Helberg-94] are similar. We uploaded her fathers DNA to several sites. Geni sent my wife an email claiming a link between herself and Claus, inferring they are 20th cousins twice removed which is a long connection dating back to the early 1500's.
For your information there is a large population of Helberg's in Southern Africa, all these Helbergs are part of a "One name Study" which is administered by my wife and I. I some cases we have recorded the spelling of most names as Helberg and in some instances have recorded the name as written from the source in the "Other last name box" in their respective profiles. Almost all of the South African Helbergs are descendent of a progenitor [Hellberg-51] who was a VOC soldier at the Cape of Good Hope (now Cape Town area). According to the Geni coupling all these Helbergs would, be related to Claus. If you could help with connections and profiles I would be delighted. happy hunting Paul
