Biography

Ben Skelton was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, England in 1850 to James Skelton and Elizabeth Flemming. He married Mary Ann Bourne in Nottinghamshire in 1874. They had nine children. Their family emigrated to Canada and lived in Metchosin, British Columbia, where Ben became a justice of the peace. He passed away in Metchosin in 1937, and is buried there at Saint Mary's Cemetery. Ben was survived by Mary Ann and five of their children.
