Juliet Emery was born 7 Aug 1815 in Pennsylvania to John Emery and Ann Covert. She married Jonathan Vogan.

In 1850, carpenter Jonathan (39) and Julia (34) Vogan resided in South Slipperyrock Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania with their children William (15), Albert (13), John (11), Joseph (9), Melvina (7), Catharine (5), Marshall (3) and Sarah (1).[1]

Juliet Vogan was left property from the estate of her sister Anne Emery. The property allocated to Juliet Vogan included a calico quilt. Her husband Jonathan Vogan was among the signatures of the heirs or spouses on an agreement with the executor of the estate.[2][3]

Juliet Vogan died 23 Apr 1853 and was buried in Unity Cemetery, Harlansburg, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. Her tombstone says: Juliet, wife of Jonathan Vogan, died Apr 23 1853, aged 37 yrs, 8 mos, 16 dys. Find A Grave: Memorial #38396171

Research Notes

The Emery book lists the children and dates of birth of John Emery and Ann Covert. The list of children corresponds with the heirs of the estate of her sister Anne Emery.

The Harlan book says Jonathan Vogan, son of William Vogan and Mary Harlan, married Julia Emery and Catherine Stoughton.
