Biography

Sir Hugo Giles Edmund Sebright, 14th Bt. was born on March 2, 1931, the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Giles Edward Sebright, 13th Bt. and Margery Hilda Fremantle.

Hugo would marry three times in his life. On December 6, 1952, in Westminster, London, England, he first married Deirdre Anne Bethell, daughter of Major Vivian Lionel Slingsby Bethell and Joan Ker Manwell. Hugo and Deirdre would have one child; Sir Peter Giles Vivian Sebright, 15th Bt. (1953-2003).

He and Deirdre were divorced in 1964.

He married his second wife, Sheila Mary Howard Rocke, the daughter of Walter Howard Rocke, on January 7, 1965. Hugo and Sheila were divorced in 1984 without issue.

Thirdly, he married, Victoria Rosamond White, the daughter of Captain Richard Taylor White and Gabrielle Ursula Style, in 1984. No children came from this union.

Hugo succeeded as the 14th Baronet Sebright, of Besford, co. Worcester on December 9, 1954.

Hugo lived for several years on a farm he bought in the British Province of Rhodesia. He and his second wife lived there before and during the civil war that eventually formed the country of Zimbabwe.

Hugo died in 1985 at the age of about 51 years. No place of death records have been found. From Mike Nezumi, an acquaintance of Hugo Sebright, Hugo died of what is called Farmer's Lung. He was possibly living near Uzès, France at the time.
