Stephen Decatur Knapp was born at Leeds, Maine, on 22 Nov 1839, the son of Stephen Knapp and Sarah "Sally" (Gott) Knapp.^[1]

Throughout his life, he was known by his middle name, Decatur.

Marriage

Decatur Knapp of Leeds, Maine, married Lizzie B. Moore of Livermore, Maine.^[2] In the 1880 Census, Decatur and Lizzie Knapp were living at Leeds, and their oldest child was shown as 11 years old.^[3]

Death

A gravestone at the Knapp Cemetery in Leeds, Maine, says that Stephen D, Knapp died on 5 May 1921.^[4]
