Biography

Anne was a Presentation Nun.

Anne was born about November 1844 to Patrick Bray and Bridget Minahan in Limerick Ireland. The sisters arrived at Sandridge, Port Melbourne on 21 December, 1873, They were responding to a request from Fr James Corbett, Parish Priest as there were insufficient funds to pay teachers and many children needed education. Anne came as a postulant and took her vows on 24 December 1874 she left the order and re-entered in 1879. (This may have been at the time a number of Sisters were excommunicated) Anne took the religious name Sr Mary Monica.^[1]

She died on 25 November 1929 at the convent in Prahan^{[2] [3][4]} and is buried in the St Kilda Cemetery^[5]
