The birth was registered in 1870, March qtr. ref. 1d 376 WILLIAM HENRY HOPE was born at Lambeth, London, England in 1869. (Lambeth is the neighboring borough to Southwark where two of his siblings were later registered.) ^[1]

William was baptized on 8 Oct 1871 at Christ Church, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, United Kingdom (his mother's home town) - on the same occasion as his brother Frederick James Hope. ^[2]

William married Avis Townes in 1891 at Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales.^[3]

William Hope died on November 20, 1936 at Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Probate was granted in London England on September 4, 1937 to Francis Basil Guedalla solicitor attorney of Leslie Towns Hope.^[5]

1. It should be noted that whilst the US nationalization records state date of birth as February 25, 1873 his grave has the year 1869. The latter must be correct as William appears in the 1871 England census. His birth was registered in the first quarter of 1870.
