William was born 6 Jun 1776 at Northfield.[1]

William was a store owner of some kind with a retail license at Northfield for the periods: 1810-1813, 1819-1821, and 1823-1826.[1]
He married second about 1816 Harriet Chapon.[1]
On 9 Nov 1818 William was approved as executor of his late father's will at Northfield. [1]
In 1815, he married for a third time to Chrissey Thaxter Cushing.[3][4][1]
Before 1829, he donated church furniture to the church of the first society in Northfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts.[1]
In May 1829, he donated to the town a 130 acre farm for the support, employment and education of the poor.[1]
On 9 Mar 1830, he was appointed guardian for his son Francis.[1]
26 Apr 1836, he was approved to be the executor of his son William's estate.[1]
On 1 Oct 1845, William was selected for the jury of a murder trial of a deputy sheriff in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusett. William was a farmer in Franklin County, Massachusetts at this time.[1]
Before 6 Jan 1847, William was the president of Greenfield Bank in Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts.[1]
William died 6 Jan 1847 at Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Probate was 18 Nov 1856 Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States.[1][5]
