Biography

John Riddle was born in November, 1827 in Ohio.^[1] See Notes He was the son of David Riddle and Elizabeth Van Emmon.^[2]

John married Mary sometime before the 1860 census was taken in July.^[3] They had no known children.^[3][4][5]

After Mary died in 1891, John married Emma Davidson on September 20, 1892 in Mahoning County, Ohio.^[6] Emma and John moved to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania where John was a farmer in 1900.^[1] The couple had no children.^[1]

Notes

John may have died in 1904 and is probably buried in Hopewell Cemetery, New Bedford (Lawrence County), Pennsylvania.^[7]

The FindAGrave memorial gravestone has the dates 1823 (birth date) and 1904 (death date). Additionally, Mary is listed as John's wife although we know she died in Ohio and is likely buried somewhere in Mahoning County. The birthdate is probably not correct as it does not come close to any of the census information.

No source was found for John's marriage to a Mary Dickson on 8 March 2024.

No source for John's death date was found (other than the FindAGrave memorial) on 9 March 2024.
